It was within the darkened auditoriums, while screening award-winning films like "Braveheart" and "The Shawshank Redemption," that he discovered his calling and decided to pursue a career in film.

Immediately after graduation, Dave entered the entertainment industry, primarily working in camera and lighting roles. His early career saw him contributing to various productions, including serving as a camera operator for the 2002 Winter Olympics and the 2004 NBA All-Star Game, as well as working as a Gaffer on numerous independent feature films.

Notable feature film credits include "Rush Hour 3" (2007), "Star Trek" (2009), and "Little Fockers" (2010). On the television front, he has worked on "Criminal Minds," "CSI: Miami,"," "The Shield," "Shut Eye," "Bosch: Legacy," and "Snowfall" and "Star Wars: Obiwan". He also made contributions as a Gaffer on TV shows such as "Insecure," "Homeland," "Westworld," and "Reasonable Doubt."

Recognizing the vibrant spirit of independent filmmaking, Dave founded the Santa Barbara Indie Film Festival in 2023. This festival serves as a testament to his commitment to providing emerging filmmakers with a platform to showcase their cinematic art.
